Recycling center opening hours
During the holidays, all recycling centers are closed. On Christmas Eve (December 24) and New Year’s Eve (December 31), all recycling centers will close at 4:00 PM.
Customer Contact Center opening hours
The Customer Contact Center will be closed during the holidays. Do you have a question? Send us a message via the contactform. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
Household waste collection
This year, Christmas falls on a Wednesday and Thursday, and New Year’s Day falls on a Wednesday. We do not collect household waste on public holidays. Your container will be emptied on a different day, known as a “make-up day”:
- Christmas: the make-up day for Wednesday, December 25, is Saturday, December 21 and the make-up day for Thursday, December 26, is Saturday, December 28. Note! In Delft city center, the collection of organic waste and bags will shift to Tuesday, December 24.
- New Year’s: the make-up day for Wednesday, January 1, is Saturday, January 4. Note! In Delft city center, the collection of organic waste and bags will shift to Tuesday, December 31.
The make-up days are also listed in your personal waste calendar. Check the calendar via the AvalexApp or on the website.
NOTE: Do you use communal containers in your building? The same make-up days apply.
Where do I dispose my Christmas tree?
Christmas trees with roots can be replanted to enjoy them for another year. Cut Christmas trees must be disposed of according to your municipality's regulations. Check the rules here.
Neighborhood containers
During the holidays, we will empty above-ground and underground containers more frequently. Is a container full? Please do not place your waste next to it. Instead, come back later or find another container. Together, we can keep the area clean.
Om vuurwerkschade te voorkomen sluiten we sommige containers op dinsdagavond 31 december om 19.00 uur tijdelijk af. Deze gaan de volgende ochtend (woensdag 1 januari) om 07.00 uur weer open.
NOTE: Some containers are manually locked and unlocked, so times may vary. In certain municipalities, above-ground containers will also be removed and reinstalled later.
